Ode to Snow

“If the Sages ask thee why this charm is wasted on the earth and sky, tell them, dear, that if eyes were made for seeing, then Beauty is its own excuse for Being.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

And beautiful it is…to all my friends and friends of friends who have been longing, with deep sighs, for the snow to fall in abundance on their favorite ski spots.

Winter returned for a minute and with it a snow dump so glorious as to evoke the sort of wanton abandon we exuded as children whilst waxing our sleds and reveling in the missed days of school.

Here’s to all of you for whom snow is the white gold of the winter season.

“How full of the creative genius is the air in which these are generated! I should hardly admire them more if real stars fell and lodged on my coat.” ~Henry David Thoreau
